Brushless DC (BLDC) Motors: Transforming Power and Performance

The brushless DC (BLDC Controller) motor is an electronically commuted motor. A BLDC motor takes in AC voltage and internally converts it into DC.

BLDC Motor Has a Major Advantage Over Conventional Motors Such As

Less power consumption

  • High speed
  • High efficiency

So, using BLDC motor is environment friendly and has many applications like:

  • Ceiling fan
  • Industrial & Domestic motor pump
  • Home appliances like washing machine, vacuum cleaner, scrubber machine, compressors, dryers
  • Fans, pumps and blowers
  • Electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and electric bicycles

Most of the above applications can be IoT enabled by using GSM module with embedded sim, to enable long-distance control and monitoring. We can add various sensors like temperature, humidity, to control the humidity & temperature in the room in the application of AC or ceiling fan.

We can also use WiFi module or Bluetooth module depending on the application so that it can be controlled by IoT.

In this, the IGBT modules, can be used for higher wattage motor and for low wattage SIC MOSFET can be used.

The application can also be controlled by IR Remote. The remote handset can be configured with LCD Display depending on the requirement.

In this the BLDC motor is sensor-less which helps to reduce the required extra external hardware and also makes easy for design.
